Ethan Daly was a former Union Academy graduate in 2013. During his time as a student, Ethan was a four-year starter and two-year team captain on the Varsity Soccer team. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Ethan returned to Union Academy to teach Social Studies in the High School. In 2020, he joined the soccer program as an assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s teams. Since joining the program, the Men’s team has made the playoffs three years in a row, including a Sweet 16 run back in 2022, and the Women’s team made the playoffs every year, including two straight Final Four runs in 2022 and 2023.
Coach Luis Echeverry has over 11 years of soccer coaching experience, mostly with Charlotte Soccer Academy and Charlotte Independence Soccer Club. Coach Echeverry also served as the Middle School Boys Soccer coach during the 2019 season. As a coach who subscribes to a hands-on coaching style, Coach Echeverry has been successful in player and team development by improving technical, tactical, physical, and psychological abilities, preparing players for the demands of the game and life. Coach Echeverry is a highly visible coach possessing sound judgment, exceptionally strong communication and organizational skills, and a philosophy deeply rooted in cooperation, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
