JV/Varsity Baseball

Coach Williams has been at Union Academy since 2018. He grew up in West Virginia graduating from Huntington High School. While in high school, Coach Williams was a 2 time all conference and all state selection. Coach Williams attended West Virginia University Institute of Technology and was a four year starter and 3 time captain on the WVU Tech baseball team. He also won the Prospect League (college wood bat) championship in 2012 with the West Virginia Miners. Coach Williams has been actively involved in the athletic programs during his time at Union Academy, taking the Varsity Baseball team to the Final Four this past season.  Cardinal Pride!

Coach Chestnut is in his first year of coaching spring of 2024. He grew up in Neeses SC graduating in 2017 from Barnwell High School. While in high school, Coach Chestnut was a 4 time all region selection, 2-time all-state selection, and 1 time all state select member joining the top 30 players of the class of 2017. Coach Chestnut attended Furman University from 2017-2018 and University of South Carolina- Lancaster from 2018-2019. After USCL Coach Chestnut spent 3 years at North Greenville University as a starting pitcher graduating with a bachelor's in health science. In his 3 years at North Greenville University Coach Chestnut won 2 Conference Championships (2021&2022) and the Division 2 National Championship in 2022. Coach Chestnut graduated in 2023 from Prisma Health Cardiovascular and Leadership Program earning his Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and Registered Vascular Technologist. Aside from the Union Academy Varsity Baseball team he works at Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute in Charlotte, NC. Coach Chestnut is excited to bring his experience and knowledge to the Cardinal Varsity Baseball team.
