Lindsy Taylor - Head Coach
Lindsy Taylor is the current Middle School Girls Soccer Coach at Union Academy. Soccer has been a part of her life since she was 4 years old. Once she started playing, she never stopped. She loves the game more with each passing year. Coach Taylor continues to play in The Charlotte Women's Soccer League as well as for Strikers (alongside fellow club soccer coaches). Oftentimes, you will see her joining in on a scrimmage or game during training sessions too.
Coach Taylor started coaching in 2018 years ago and was honored to be chosen to join the UA athletics department in 2021. In addition to her coaching role at Union Academy, she coaches the U16 Classic Girls' team for Porter Ridge Athletic Association and has the pleasure of coaching some of our UA athletes for both teams. Coach Taylor values the importance of developing young women not only as athletes but as women of character, which aligns perfectly with the athletics mission statement here at Union Academy. Being able to lead with that in mind has been transformative for the team and Coach Taylor. Her goal is to continue to prioritize and pursue those values in conjunction with the school's mission as she works to create a sense of community among the players on the team as well as the collective Middle School and Varsity programs. To have the overall women's soccer program (players and families) be connected, supporting each other and functioning as families of these female student athletes unified in our love of the game and love of our school would be amazing!
Coach Taylor currently holds the following Grassroots Licenses through U.S.Soccer:
- 7v7
- 9v9
- 11v11
- US Soccer National D Coaching License
Coach Taylor also holds the following National Federation of State High School (NFHS) certifications:
- National Accredited Interscholastic Coach
- Level 1 NFHS Coach
- Level 2 NFHS Coach
Coach Taylor joined our staff this year and is currently a Kindergarten Assistant with Mrs. Rogers. She has loved being on campus and getting to see her student athletes more regularly. Coach Taylor's greatest passion in coaching is creating community and connection amongst players and their families. Having the opportunity to be a part of educating and instilling the 3 C's in third graders is icing on the cake.
Speaking of icing on the cake, Coach Taylor owns and operates an at-home bakery called “Taylor Made Treats”, specializing in customizing "Taylor-made" treats for any and all celebratory events in life. In her spare time, Coach Taylor enjoys spending time with her husband (Tim), 4 children (Kennedy, Avery, Greyson, and Micah), and dog Clementine. As a family, they love to go camping and hiking and generally enjoy all things, exploring the outdoors, including sporting games of any kind and gardening.
Coach Taylor is a big proponent of communication with athletes and their families. If you have any questions before, during or after the soccer season, she welcomes them!
Hope to see you around the school or on the pitch soon!
